Parents as Teachers (PAT) is an evidence-based, early childhood home visiting framework that builds strong communities, thriving families, and children who are healthy, safe, and ready to learn. Certified parent educators provide home visiting services that encourage and support parent-child interaction, development-centered parenting, and family well-being in their work with families.

The early years of a child’s life are the most important for success in school and life.
Parents are children’s first and most influential teachers.
All young children and their families deserve opportunities to succeed.
-
Parents as Teachers partner with parents and caregivers during a child’s earliest years in life, from prenatal through kindergarten. The program provides parents and caregivers with child development knowledge and parenting support, screens early for developmental delays and health issues, and increases children's school readiness. By understanding what to expect during each stage of a child’s development, parents and caregivers can easily capture the teachable moments in everyday life to enhance their child’s language development, intellectual growth, social development, and motor skills.
