  • Camp A.I.M. (Adventures In Me) is a two-week day camp designed to provide a supportive, non-threatening, nurturing summer camp experience for children who have been sexually abused.

  • Camp A.I.M. serves approximately 30 children, ages 5 through 17, from Whitfield, Murray, and Gordon Counties.

  • Camp A.I.M provides a very comprehensive, structured curriculum of stories, group sessions, art, and movement activities directed at child sexual abuse issues. The curriculum is augmented by various creative activities directed by trained professionals. All classes are led by staff members trained in working with children affected by child abuse. This structured group-focused approach can assist children in experiencing relief from the traumatic effects of sexual molestation while developing self-confidence and problem- solving skills. Camp A.I.M. provides the emotional support necessary for children who have been sexually abused to be able to express their feelings about their abuse in a comfortable environment. At camp children with abuse issues have the opportunity to meet and interact with peers who have experienced similar abuse. Under the leadership of trained staff, campers learn that they are not alone in their abuse, that they can learn to trust again, and most importantly, that the cycle of abuse can be stopped.
